Test of Instructional Ability

The purpose of this examination is to test your ability to instruct. The abilities being assessed are grouped in to four areas.

The exam is split in to two phases. This is so the examiner can assess your ability to instruct.

The first phase is giving a lesson to a beginner or someone in the early stages of their driver development. The second phase is directed at someone who has already had at least one lesson on the lesson topic.

Phase two can also cover reverse parking, as this will not have been covered previously on any lessons.

As from 6th march 2006, the Examiner will also have the option of assessing a candidates' ability to give instruction to a qualified driver undertaking driver development.
